Radio host Amy Goodman and two Democracy Now! producers were arrested Monday while covering a protest of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. According to a news release by the show, all three were later released; Goodman was charged with obstruction while Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar face riot charges.
The two producers said they were bloodied in their encounters with the officers. Salazar, according to the release, was "slammed to the ground while yelling, 'I'm Press! Press!" Goodman's arrest, which came as she asked why the other two were being detained, was captured on video.
Matthew Rourke, an Associated Press photographer, was also among more than 280 people arrested at the protest as police resorted to using pepper spray and tear gas on the crowd, according to multiple news reports. Rourke was taken to jail and released late last night.

Do these people really look like they would hurt the police? I'm sure if they wanted to hurt the police they would go to their homes and gun them and their family down when they were sleeping.
Cops just don't get it, they're not around their cop buddies for protection 24/7. They all have to eat and sleep at some point of the day.

I'm sorry, but what a crock of shit!
These people wanted and were prepared to be arrested!
They craved the attention of the mainstream media, and the fringe media alike, so they could look all dramatic while being beaten down by heavily armed, armored, and trained police officers!
Seriously, if they really wanted to "send a message", then I believe they should buy some guns,....yes, GUNS! As much as they hate guns, they work! ....and some ammo, and take those weapons with them to their next rally where they would expect to have police in riot gear waiting for their orders to arrest, spray, and shoot everyone with a variety of munitions.
A friend of mine and I did some tests with an assortment of weapons. We used a bullet resistant vest used by military, and often worn by riot police, and shot at it with 9mm, .45, .22, a 12g shotgun, with the vest wrapped around a watermelon to simulate a person wearing the vest. We found that the vest stopped all of those rounds, with a slight amount of bruising to the watermelon. Then we broke out the high powered rifles like an AK47,...then an AR15. We found that not only did the rounds go through the vest used by riot police, it blew the watermelon behind it into a huge mess!
You can buy an AK47 for as little as $300.00 in most States. The ammo comes in a box of 20 rounds for about $6.00 each box. These rifles are "semi-automatic" which basically means, that one bullet comes out as fast as you can pull the trigger! A typical magazine for a rifle like an AK47, sold legally in the USA, holds 30 rounds!
I'd suggest using hollow tipped rounds for better effect.
Now,...lets say that a group of protesters want to hold a real peaceful demonstration, without having the cops march all over them with their horses, batons, pepper spray..etc, and beat the hell of anyone they can reach,..well, I think they should bring their high-powered rifles along with them, and IF the police decide to use force to stop them, then take a wild guess as to what would happen if lets say,.....30 or so people armed with AK47s, and decide to shoot back! What you would find is that the police nation wide suddenly feeling the effects of their lawlessness hitting them in the face... literally!
Imagine...some police department suffering some 10 casualties? Wouldn't you think that might wake them the hell up..? Do you think that they would be laughing afterwords like they did in Miami when they shot that unarmed woman in the forehead with a rubber bullet that could have blinded her? I don't think so! I think they'd take their jobs much more seriously!
Guns work a lot better than stuffing flowers do!
BTW,....that's been done before.. You know what would really make a good photo..? A pile of cops in riot gear in a pool of blood!
Now, that is what I would call a Pulitzer prize winning photograph!!

Oh, and one more thing... buy your rifles before Obama makes them illegal once again!
